One beautiful November day, my daughter (the other one) called and invited us to go for a walk at The Knob. What and where is a knob? So off we went to check it out.
I’ve been to many places in Falmouth for the purpose of taking photographs, but this I had never heard of. What a great place!
It is, well, a Knob of land sticking out into Buzzards Bay at Quissett Harbor.
Once you walk the 1+ mile path, you arrive at this little peninsula. There isn’t anything out there but some stone benches to sit on and a beautiful view.
Looking back the way of the trail, you can see a crescent shaped beach.
Of course we had to go check that out too, so back down the path to the beach access trail we went. I’m sure it would be delightful in the summer, but on this warm fall day, there was no problem finding a place to park. (I’ll stick with off season visits.)
While the rest of the crew walked the beach and explored the rocks at the other end, I stayed by the stairs and ….. well, guess.
I suspect that another day soon, I will share more from this wonderful find. It will give you a completely different experience of this place called The Knob.
