I started this blog one year ago this week, and my subject was this same one, the Falmouth Christmas Parade. My words were “oh so true”, as life does get in the way of daily posting; I envy those who can keep up with that.
So, on December 9th, Happy Anniversary to ByTheSeaPhotos.com. I’ve had fun. More than 10,000 visitors have stopped by; search engines seem to find me all the time, and most regular visitors are not connected through any social networking. Nice. I’ll try to keep you all amused and entertained with places and things you like to see.
The regal and beautiful Clydesdale horses were not in attendance this year, but this beautifully decorated horse was, along with others from a local riding club.
The vendors were up and down the parade route with their foolish trinkets and tempting toys for the kids. (I admit, I bought some for two darling little “grands” last year.)
The start of the parade is always exciting when the road has been cleared and the police escort is spotted in the distance.
Many local groups marched proudly, some with signs, some pulling friends along.
While I am not sure why this character was in the parade (and you won’t find me eating there), it’s a great shot!
Very impressive was the Aleppo Shrine Clown Unit. Meet Chuckles; I have more shots of the various clowns that I will put up in the next few days. A wonderful organization, the Shriners, and they are REALLY good clowns.
Cape Cod’s own Pipes and Drums, Colum Cille, impressive as always.
That horse at the top? Duly decked out from head to hoof. More decked out horses and other things coming up in the next few days.
Great parade, Falmouth, MA!
Happy anniversary!!
Thank you!
