An Amazing August Sky

This was the sky last night, August 1st, and august it was (pun intended).

Looking outside as it neared 8:00, the blues were strangely vivid and there was a bright yellow glow to things. I grabbed my camera and went out to investigate. The sky was full of colors, the waters a vivid blue, white hulls of boats glowing; it was incredible.

I am especially sensitive to color and absolutely had to be outside for this very pleasing show.

I knew it would be fleeting, so shot quite a few photos, even running back in for a second camera.

As the sun set lower, the colors deepened. I didn’t want it to end.

These colors are all real, as is, out of camera. No manipulation; it really was this beautiful.
